On behalf of the local organising committee we take great pleasure in inviting you to attend the 20th International Maritime Pilots' Association Congress (IMPA 2010).

IMPA 2010 will be held from 14 – 19 November 2010 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Queensland, Australia.  This is the first time the congress has been held in sunny Brisbane and we hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the city and its surrounds.

Brisbane is the capital of Queensland and is Australia's largest subtropical city, enjoying a climate of vibrant summers Brisbane makes a refreshing change from most major capitals, offering the very best in food, wine, arts, entertainment and major sporting events. Also within an hour's drive of Brisbane are the famous and pristine Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast beaches.

We want to warmly welcome you all to the congress to meet with colleagues and stakeholders from around the world and discuss the key issues affecting the pilotage industry.

We hope to continue the tradition that this biennial congress has of being the most influential gathering place for colleagues around the world to join together with the common goal of improving and strengthening the pilotage industry.
